A GUIDE TO THE INQUISITORIUS

The Inquisitorius was an assemblement of Jedi-turned-dark side enforcers tasked with eradicating the remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Although most of the Jedi Order was wiped out during Order 66, there were enough Jedi survivors that would require more Jedi hunters. The inquisitors were either transformed into these dark side Force sensitives through torture or willingly gave themselves to the dark side, already having lost their belief in the Jedi code. They were led by the Grand Inquisitor, who in turn reported to Lord Vader.
Fortress Inquisitorius served as the inquisitor base of operations and was stationed on Nur, a nearby moon of Mustafar, where Vader had built his own castle. Five years after the Purge, Jedi survivors Cal Kestis and Cere Junda successfully infiltrated Fortress Inquisitorius to retrieve a holocron that held the location of Force sensitives throughout the galaxy. Five years after that, it was successfully infiltrated again by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Tala Durith to retrieve a kidnapped 10-year-old Princess Leia Organa.
Serving directly under Lord Vader, the Grand Inquisitor was put in charge of leading the other Inquisitors in eradicating the remaining Jedi that roamed the galaxy. He was a Temple Guard and a Knight of the Jedi Order, before becoming disillusioned with the Jedi after he witnessed the Council’s handling of the trial of falsely accused Ahsoka Tano. When he was finally defeated by a surviving Jedi Padawan four years before the Battle of Yavin, he chose death instead of the punishment that would have been harshly dealt by his Sith superiors.
Marrok was once known as The First Brother before he started working for Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth in her quest to return Thrawn to their galaxy. He dueled Ahsoka Tano on both Corellia and Seatos, getting cut down by the former Jedi during the latter duel. As he died, green mist shot out from his body, seemingly disintegrating most of his physical form. It is theorized that Morgan Elsbeth had reanimated him after a previous death to loyally serve her important quest.
The Second Sister, Trilla Suduri, was a Jedi Padawan in hiding shortly after Order 66, whose hidden location was given up by her own Jedi Master. Her Master, Cere Junda, had been tortured to reveal the information. After Trilla was tortured and turned into an Inquisitor, she blamed Cere for many years. After Trilla’s failure in bringing in a surviving Jedi named Cal, she was struck down by Darth Vader in front of her old master.

Reva was a Jedi youngling who survived a stabbing at the hands of Lord Vader on the night of Order 66. She used the dark side for survival, becoming the Third Sister, and rose up the ranks of the Inquisitorius in a quest for revenge against Vader for the massacre of her friends in the Jedi Temple. While she thought her true intentions to be unknown to Vader, he revealed to her he had known all along after beating her in a duel. Eventually, Reva let go of the dark side and was finally free to atone for her sins.

The Fourth Sister, former Jedi Lyn Rakish, fell to the dark side and helped recruit Barriss Offee into the Inquisitorius. 10 years later, she was present during the hunt for Obi-Wan Kenobi. Later, on a hunt for a force sensitive child, she encountered Barriss Offee who had left the inquisitorius years earlier. Barriss convinced the Fourth Sister to let go of her hate and leave her lightsaber behind. Becoming Lyn Rakish once again, she carried a dying Barriss to safety and promised to keep her friend alive.

The Fifth Brother was a gray-skinned humanoid male whose real identity remains a mystery. He aided the Third Sister, Reva, in hunting down Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi ten years after Order 66. Six years later he worked close with the Seventh Sister in tracking the Jedi from Lothal. Shortly thereafter, he and the Seventh Sister were killed by Maul on Malachor.

Formerly known as the Jedi Bil Valen, the Sixth Brother was another member of the Inquisitorius. Nearly a year after Order 66, he accompanied Lord Vader to Mon Cala to hunt surviving Jedi Ferren Barr. Shortly after their success on Mon Cala, the Sixth Brother was dispatched to a farming moon called Raada. There he encountered Ahsoka Tano, where she killed him by using the Force to explode his lightsaber while in his hands. She purified his two red kyber crystals, using them to craft her own two white lightsabers.

A Mirialan, the Seventh Sister led the hunt for surviving Jedi Kanan Jarrus and his padawan Ezra Bridger three years prior to the Battle of Yavin. During these encounters, she eventually dueled Ahsoka Tano who was aiding the two Jedi. Her hunt ended when she tracked the Jedi to Malachor, where Maul brutally killed her in a show of strength to Ezra.

The Eighth Brother was a male Terrelian Jango Jumper who was later dispatched to the ancient Sith world Malachor in search of “The Shadow.” “The Shadow” revealed himself to be Maul, who joined the fight with the Jedi in defeating the Eighth Brother, the Fifth Brother, and the Seventh Sister. When the Eighth Brother tried to flee with his spinning saber, after it had been cut by Kanan Jarrus, the saber exploded in mid-air, plunging the Eighth Brother to his death.

Formerly known as the Jedi Masana Tide, the Ninth Sister accompanied the Second Sister in hunting down the Jedi survivor Cal Kestis about five years after the purge. The Dowutin Inquisitor dueled with Cal atop the Origin Tree on the planet Kashyyyk, where she was delimbed (once again) and defeated in combat. Five years later, she was beheaded by Cal Kestis on Coruscant.

During the Clone Wars, Miraluka Jedi Master Prosset Dibs clashed with Mace Windu over ideals about the war. Prosset was then arrested for treason by the Jedi. He became the Tenth Brother after the Great Purge and was killed nearly a year later when Jedi Master Ferren Barr re-activated Order 66 in Purge troopers, who turned on Dibs and shot him down.

Very little is known about the history of the hooded and beaked-masked Eleventh Brother. He was present at Barriss Offee’s first encounter with Darth Vader. Shortly thereafter, he responded to a distress call detailing a possible Jedi sighting. The Jedi he found was a lightsaber-less Ahsoka Tano. She used his own lightsaber against him and quickly struck him down. Similar to Marrok, the masked inquisitor’s form disintegrated after death.

After her reckless decision to destroy a Separatist droid facility that caused the deaths of innocent civilians during the Clone Wars, Pkorian Jedi Knight Iskat Akaris was benched from field duty by the Council for most of the war. Iskat only felt like her true self when she was fighting and killing but was taught to bury these feelings by her Jedi mentors. She would confide these dark thoughts to a Temple worker she had befriended, who secretly worked for Darth Sidious. Moments after Order 66 was issued, Sidious gave Iskat a second chance at life to embrace her true nature and serve him as an inquisitor for the Empire. Now given the name Thirteenth Sister, she formed a romantic relationship with Tualon, a fellow inquisitor and former Jedi friend of hers. They were both killed by Darth Vader when he discovered their relationship and her rebellious idea to leave the Inquisitorius.

Tualon, his inquisitor designation currently unknown, was a dark-skinned Twi’lek Jedi Knight that fought valiantly in the Clone Wars. On his last mission in the war, Tualon was fired upon by his clone troopers as he watched Iskat Akaris, his fellow Jedi, accept a new chance at life from a mysterious figure on a hologram. Iskat walked away from Tualon, leaving him to die, and as he fought and fought against the clones he cursed Iskat’s name in pure hatred as he watched her fly away in the ship that took her into the sky. Tualon’s anger kept him alive and he was eventually transported to the Inquisitorius where he was tortured to become one of them. When Tualon first saw Iskat as a fellow Inquisitor, he stabbed her, knowing one of her two hearts could take the blow. Now that the two newly darksiders were “even”, they fell in love and formed a relationship that eventually cost them their life at the hands of Lord Vader.

Disillusioned with the Order toward the end of the Clone War, Jedi Barriss Offee bombed the Jedi temple to send them a message that they had lost their way. Barriss was recruited by the Fourth Sister once the Republic fell. Barriss was forced to kill a fellow Jedi to earn her spot in the Inquisitorius. Still without an Inquisitor designation, she witnessed the Fourth Sister slaughter an entire village. Barriss then decided to choose to save the Jedi they were after and leave the inquisitorius behind. She became a Force healer, working alongside the Hidden Path and her friend Ahsoka Tano. When Barriss’ whereabouts were discovered by the Fourth Sister, she convinced the former Jedi Lyn Rakish to return to the light side despite it presumably coming at the cost of her own life.
